Each year the City Code Enforcement officer inspects sidewalks in a different area of the City to ensure resident safety in our walkable community. Property owners are responsible for their own sidewalk maintenance. Sidewalks in need of repair will be marked where the offset between blocks is 1/2" or greater, cracks are greater than 1/2", the surafce is severly spalled or if other hazardous conditions exist.

If the inspection determines that a sidewalk is in disrepair, the property owner will receive a notice explaining the defect and be given 90 days to make the repair. When the sidewalk repair has been completed, approved and the proper paperwork submitted the property owner may be eligible for a reimbursement of up to 50% of the repair cost up to $250.
