| December 18, 2001 The Council of the City of Milford met in Regular Session in Council Chambers at 745 Center Street at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 18, 2001. Mayor Kolb opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence. Roll Call: Present - Mayor Kolb, Vice-Mayor Ms. McBeath, Mr. Antell, Mr. Gradolf, Mr. Metz, Mr. Bishop, Ms. Hinners Reading of Minutes: Motion by Mr. Antell and second by Mr. Metz to waive the reading and to approve the minutes of the December 4, 2001 Regular Meeting with the following change: Mr. Bishop would like to have the minutes reflect where he stated he would like to know how the Bryco/Gatch Property proposal benefits the neighborhood. Mayor Kolb, Vice-Mayor Ms. McBeath, Ms. Hinners, Mr. Metz, and Mr. Bishop voted yea. Mr. Antell and Mr. Gradolf abstained. Correspondence: Clerk Barrons-Sweeney asked Council if they would like a hearing for the Acapulco Mexican Restaurant #2 to obtain a liquor license. Council requested more information. This issue will be tabled until the January 2 meeting. Also, Clerk Barrons-Sweeney read to Council a thank you letter Clerk Barrons-Sweeney reminded Council they received the following November Financial Statements: Allocations of Collections, Schedule of Investments/Interest, Summary of Balances, Reconciliation of City Funds and Statement of Cash. Swearing In: Law Director Mike Minniear swore in Jim Zazycki as a Part-Time Patrol Officer. Comments: Suzanne Stagg, 803 Center Street, on behalf of the Milford Beautification Task Force to announce the winners of the annual holiday decorating contest. Second place was Joan and Paul Jones, and Kathy Hundley. First place went to Pamela and Jonathan Lee. Ms. Stagg thanked the City Council, Mike Haight and Loretta Rokey for assisting to make the bridge flower boxes a dream come true. Standing Committee Reports Public Services: Mr. Antell reported the Public Services Committee did not meet; however, Mr. Antell introduced an Ordinance. Motion by Mr. Antell and second by Mr. Gradolf to draft an Ordinance declaring December 24th, 2001 as a paid holiday for City of Milford employees as a one time in recognition of the attacks that occurred in our country on September 11, 2001. All voted yea. Administrative Services: Ms. Hinners reported the Administrative Services Committee met on December 12, 2001 from to 7:00 p.m. Ms. Hinners reported the Committee met with Steve Wagner, our Finance Director, to review housekeeping budget information. Motion by Ms. Hinners and second by Ms. McBeath to draft an Ordinance amending appropriations Ordinance No. 01-97. All voted yea. Motion by Ms. Hinners and second by Ms. McBeath to draft an Ordinance authorizing the City Finance Director to advance fund from the general fund. All voted yea. Motion by Ms. Hinners and second by Ms. McBeath to draft an Ordinance to make temporary appropriations for current expenses and other expenditures of the City of Milford, Ohio for and during a period ending no later than March 31, 2002, or such earlier time as Council may pass and adopt a permanent appropriation Ordinance for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2002. Safety Services: No report. Community Development: No repot. City Manager: Ms. Rokey reported we were really honored to have the Olympic torch travel through Milford today. Ms. Rokey advised that Christmas trees free of decorations will be collected every Wednesday through January. Ms. Rokey reported the Taste of Milford, sponsored by the Chamber was a great success. Committee Meetings to be scheduled: Public Services Monday, January 7 4:45 p.m. Community Development Tuesday, January 8 5:30 p.m. Several reminders were reported, please see City Managers report dated December 18, for details. Police Department: Chief Lantman submitted the November Police Department Monthly Report. Fire Department and EMS: The Fire Departments November Monthly Report was submitted. Also, this Friday the Fire Department is taking 13 children form Miami Elementary to Johnnys toys this is to award the children for doing well in school. Old Business: None.
