South Milford House Tour
On Sunday, November 25th the South Milford Neighborhood History Group is hosting a historic home tour to raise money for publishing a history of the neighborhood. South Milford is one of Milford's oldest neighborhoods. For ticket information, please call Coleen Binning at 831-4602 or Cathy Gatch at 831-0412
The houses on the tour are:
102 Cleveland Avenue-- In 1895 this charming Queen Ann style house was the home of Edward and Kate Harding.
72 Mound Avenue-- In Frank Julien's time (1913) this house was small and insignificant by today's standards. Now it is a rosy stucco showplace, thanks to Anna Louise Baldwin's renovation in the 1920s.
42 Cleveland Avenue-- In 1904 this was the residence and office/hospital of Dr. C.J. Spence, a "railroad doctor" who performed many operations and amputations. This home had Milford's first basement garage so the doctor's car would be warm for quick house calls.
515 Mill Street-- First created as the Milford Free Gospel Chapel in the late 40s or early 50s, this building is currently being remodeled into a unique family home by Shannon and Maggie Reynolds.
