Alley Trimming

Within the next several weeks, the Service Department staff will be working in the alleyways throughout the City.  One of their jobs will be patching potholes left over from winter. Another will be trimming back shrubbery/foliage or trees encroaching on the public right-of-way.

It is the duty of any property owner owning or occupying property abutting, bordering on, or adjacent to the right-of-way upon which there may be trees or shrubs, to prune or cause to be pruned as necessary to abate any nuisance necessary for the protection of property or persons using the alleyway or to allow an unobstructed view of traffic from all directions.

In the event that the property owner has not taken responsibility for trimming the above mentioned growth in the alleyway, the Service Department shall trim it to the necessary specifications to allow free and safe passageway through the alley.
