Charles Norman Jonas enlisted in the Army in December of 1942.  Charles was killed in France less than two years later.  His brother, Francis Neal Jonas owned the park site property until his passing in late 2017.

Mr. Jonas wanted to honor the memory of his brother and therefore a monument was decided upon by his family and dedicated in the park.  The park serves as a gathering place for park patrons and includes a walking path, public parking area, and a path to the bank of the Little Miami River.
