The City of Milford takes pride in providing services to our residents and businesses that are typically only provided by much larger municipalities, including a variety of economic development incentives and engaging community events. Residents and business owners take an active role in City government and serve on its many committees and commissions. We also are well-served by our productive relationship with the State-rated “Excellent” Milford Exempted Village School District and view our roles in this relationship as providing a supportive and vibrant location for businesses to create jobs and the school system fostering creative, young employees and future leaders for our business community.
The diversity of housing options within the City is one of the reasons why our residents choose to make Milford their home. Milford provides the opportunity for families to live here for their entire lives by offering historic homes, affordable family homes, upscale townhomes and top-rated retirement facilities. Our very walkable community keeps residents connected to the business districts and neighborhoods throughout the City. You can find many examples of historic preservation in both our residential and commercial districts. In fact, our downtown business district is thriving with a variety of retail businesses, some located in buildings dating back to the early 1800’s.
Milford is an easy 16 miles east of downtown Cincinnati along Columbia Parkway and across the Little Miami Scenic River in Clermont County. The City offers the convenience of being close to Cincinnati with a laid-back lifestyle and many opportunities for outdoor recreation including a ride along the Little Miami Scenic Bike Trail, a trip down the Little Miami River on a kayak or a visit to Valley View, a 150-acre nature preserve on the banks of the East Fork of the Little Miami. Milford's mix of accessible natural spaces and a charming, yet lively downtown definitely makes us stand out from other communities.
